A Comparative Analysis of series and parallel topologies of Perturb and Observe (P&O) and Incremental Conductance (InC) MPPT Algorithms for Photovoltaic System

Photovoltaic (PV) is considered one of the most important sources energy in world, owing to its inherent advantages being cheap, environmental friendliness, and energy-efficient. To increase output power solar PV system, it enforce operate at highest possible maximum point tracking (MPPT) algorithm lead an role optimization performance a photovoltaic generation systems. This paper compares two widely used MPPT algorithms, namely Perturb Observe (P&O) method Incremental Conductance (IC) method, known for their low cost eases realization. The algorithms were evaluated based on parameters such as voltage, current, different combinations, with without shading. array was using MATLAB Simulink toolbox. simulation results demonstrate that IC can rapidly detect (MPP) when irradiance changes suddenly, faster convergence higher accuracy than P&O algorithm.
